Rolled Paper

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Fellow Bloggers,
Today was a very exciting day. We started the day by making sculptures out of wire. It was fairly frustrating because it was kind of hard to bend but they ended out very nice. After lunch we used plaster to make masks of our faces. It was so cool. We used gauze and suck it on each others faces. Then after all of our face was covered we waited for a while then our partner pealed it off. While it was on it felt like we were having facials, but when they pulled it off it hurt pretty badly. In the end they looked just like us, but our actual faces were covered in plaster. Then at the end we tooled our pots that we threw yesterday and those came out great. Tomorrow we get to go to an art studio and that will be so much fun. Until tomorrow.

Day 1

Well,
We had a wonderful day with the 3D Art. Today we worked on pottery. The class worked on hand built pots using the slab, coil, and pinch pot methods. Everyone was able to get on the potter's wheel. I don't know about them, but my back was screaming at the end of the class. I think if you ask them the potter's wheel is a lot harder than it looks. We are going to tool our pots tomorrow and make plaster castings of the kids faces. That is going to be a blast. I can't wait for day two.
